Margaret gives the first performance of Tony Bridgewater's "Klavierstuck" for piano and strings with the Central England Ensemble conducted by Anthony Bradbury, at the Adrian Boult Hall, Birmingham, on Sunday 15th November 2015.
Margaret will be giving the first performance of Peter Copley's Concerto for Piano and Strings on November 8th with the Musicians of All Saints, conducted by Andrew Sherwood, at St Luke's Church, Brighton BN2 9ZB. The concerto was commissioned with support from the Arts Council England.
Margaret's new release on Chandos is a collection of encore-like pieces that explore the way in which composers have transformed the piano, in essence a percussion instrument, into one that can sing. The album takes its title from John Metcalf's beautiful piece "Endless Song" and is a personal collection of some of her favourite pieces by favourite composers, including Mendelssohn, Liszt song transcriptions, Josef Suk, Poulenc, Gershwin, Albeniz, Carlos Guastavino and Rachmaninoff.
CLASSIC FM ALBUM OF THE WEEK! "Endless Song" was given its premiere play on John Suchet's programme each weekday morning from 26th to 30th May.
Margaret's album was also chosen by David Mellor as his "Pick of the Week" on his New Releases programme on Classic FM on Saturday 14th June.
